“1st Annual Portland to Portland ATV Run”    

Follow Jim across North America starting June 27th in Oregon and ending up sometime in August in Maine.  This will be the first time anyone has ever attempted to ATV across North America in one continuous long trip.  This adventure is a fund raiser with contributions going directly to the NASCAR Foundation. Fellow atv’ers that ride along on portions of the journey will be asked to donate $25.00 to the foundation.  Jim will also be taking pledges for donations per mile he rides and will ask others to try and do the same.  All donors will have their names listed on the site and ALL money will go to the charity. 

This trip will start on the Oregon/California border and follow all legal trails and roads through numerous national forest in Oregon, Idaho including the Lewis and Clark Trail, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan UP, Ontario, Quebec and last but not least, Maine.  We are estimating six weeks from start to finish.  There are already hundreds of atv’ers that will be joining us for a day or two. We are going to have a transponder on Jim’s atv and it will be updated every fifteen minutes.  There is a link on this site that will be activated during the trip so anyone can track him and find out if he’s moving or if he has decided to just sit in a Jacuzzi for the day. 

We’ll keep you posted on the atv friendly areas, the good places to eat and sleep, tourist sites like the worlds largest ball of twine and …..well you get the point. We will also have a calendar that will be updated nightly with dates on when Jim will arrive at overnight stops.
